is a Peruvian-American investigative journalist and filmmaker based in Berkeley, California, who tells visual stories centered on communities whose lived experiences have historically been misrepresented and underrepresented in the media. She was previously a staff video journalist at the Associated Press in Chicago.

Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a Master’s degree in Video Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
